What every mile actually costs you — fuel, maintenance, overhead, daily costs all divided by total miles. This is your break-even rate. If your RPM is below this, you're losing money on every mile.
Revenue Per Mile (RPM)
What you're earning per mile after deductions. RPM must be higher than CPM to make money. A healthy gap is 20%+ above CPM. The closer they get, the thinner your margin.
Deadhead %
Empty miles as a percentage of total miles. Under 15% is healthy. Over 25% is hurting you. Every empty mile costs fuel and time with zero revenue. High deadhead means better lane planning is needed.
Net Margin %
What you kept as a percentage of gross revenue. 20%+ is strong. Under 10% is a warning sign. Negative margin means you paid to haul that load. The SSR tracks this trend over time.
Weekly Score
Each week gets its own score based on that week's loads. The most recent week carries the most weight (40%) in your overall SSR. Improve this week and your score moves up fast.
Trend
Compares your most recent week to the previous week. Improving means your operation is getting stronger. Declining means something changed — check which metric dropped and why.
📋 How the Score is Calculated▾
CPM vs RPM Gap — 35 points
The most important factor. RPM 25%+ above CPM = full 35 points. RPM below CPM = 0 points. This single metric predicts failure more than anything else.
Net Margin — 25 points
20%+ margin = 25 points. Under 5% = 5 points. Negative margin = 0 points. Tracks what actually landed in your pocket after all costs.
Deadhead % — 20 points
Under 10% deadhead = 20 points. Over 35% = 0 points. Empty miles are a direct cost with no revenue — the score penalizes high deadhead heavily.
Load Activity — 10 points
5+ confirmed loads per week = 10 points. At least 1 = 4 points. More data means a more accurate picture of your operation.
Positive Net Kept — 10 points
If you kept money after all costs this week = 10 points. Breaking even = 5 points. Losing money = 0 points.
